Ellisha was born on the 2nd January 2000. Due to oxygen starvation during labour, she was diagnosed with a condition called Cerebral Palsy.

Very early on her parents decided to approach the implications that this condition caused - both to Ellisha as a child and also the rest of their family - in a very positive manner. With the help of family, friends and local support within the community, they set up the Ellisha Dorrill Appeal trust fund to enable them to give Ellisha the things that she needed throughout her life.

Since January 2004 Ellisha has attended Chailey Heritage School which provides her with stimulation, communication and physical manipulation.

The Fund provides her much needed equipment such as frames to encourage sitting and standing, communication aids and toys that develop cognitive skills.

It also provides the opportunity for a Home Programme Teacher to attend school with Ellisha one day a week to gain valuable experience and for another teacher to support the family by spending a few hours each week playing, reading or swimming with Ellisha.
